#15 Halicardia, Ceylon ebony

Halicardia nipponensis, Japanese name "Nippon Otohimegokoro" means "The heart of princess at the palace under the sea". One of the most popular Bivalves in Japan, because of its romantic japanese name, characteristic shape and rarity. Found from the deep water about 500m depth around Japan.

The more I look this shell, the more I am interested in its mysterious shape, but it is difficult to carve.
